Who Can Apply?

For the nurse post: you need a three-year GNM course. A State Nursing Council registration is desirable, and so is work in surgery, critical care or elderly care.

For the lab post: you need one of these:

  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant subject.
  • A three-year graduate degree, plus three years of relevant work.
  • A four-year Engineering, IT or Computer Science degree, if it relates to lab data or sample tracking.

Relevant subjects include Medical Lab Technology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Life Sciences.

Educational Qualification

Your degree must be from a recognised university or institution. ICMR guidelines decide which subjects count as equal. If you have a higher degree, you must still meet the essential rule.

Age Limit and Application Fee

The upper limit is 30 years, and relaxation follows ICMR and institute rules. We did not find a fee in the sections we reviewed.

Salary Details

Pay is Rs. 24,000 a month, made up of Rs. 20,000 and 20 percent HRA. The first year’s tenure is nine months. It may be renewed, depending on the project, funds and your work.

  • Talk to older patients about joining the study, under a doctor’s guidance.
  • Check patients for delirium using a tool called CAM, after you are trained.
  • Follow up on recovery and pain.
  • Keep study forms correct and up to date.

As Technical Support:

  • Label, process and store blood samples.
  • Keep temperature records, since samples must stay cold.
  • Help with ELISA, a common lab test.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

AIIMS first checks your form, and tells shortlisted people through its website or email. Then comes an in-person interview. If more than 15 people apply for one post, there may be a written test too. The notice does not share its syllabus, so revise basics of your subject. That advice is ours.
