This is the second stage of the Junior Assistant recruitment. The first stage was the Mains written exam on 1 February 2026, and its result came on 15 September 2026.
The typing test was first planned from 30 October. UPSSSC shifted it to 13 November. It runs in two shifts each day.
The typing test is qualifying. In simple words, you only need to reach the minimum speed. If you fail it, you cannot move ahead, even with good Mains marks.

Details Students Should Check
Look at these points as soon as you download the card:
- Is your name spelled correctly?
- Is your photo and signature clear?
- Which date and shift did you get?
- What is the reporting time?
- Where exactly is the centre in Lucknow?
If anything is wrong, contact UPSSSC quickly through its website.
Typing Speed You Need
| Language | Speed Needed |
|---|---|
| Hindi | 25 words per minute |
| English | 30 words per minute |
You must pass both languages. For Hindi, you can type in the Mangal font (Inscript) or Kruti Dev 010. Check the official notice for the full error rules.
Important Instructions for Exam Day
- Take your printed admit card.
- Take an original photo ID card, like Aadhaar or voter ID.
- Reach before the reporting time on your card. The gate closes at a fixed time.
- Read every rule printed on your admit card the night before.
Simple Practice Plan for the Next Few Days
A few days of focused practice can make a big difference:
- Morning: 30 minutes of Hindi typing in the font you will use.
- Evening: 30 minutes of English typing from a newspaper paragraph.
- Every day: One timed 5-minute test in each language. Note your speed in a notebook.
- Last two days: Do not try new methods. Just practise what you know and rest well.
Slow and correct typing is better than fast typing full of mistakes.
Common Mistakes to Avoid in the Typing Test
- Rushing at the start: Many candidates type too fast in the first minute and make errors. Start at a steady pace.
- Looking at the keyboard: This slows you down. Keep your eyes on the passage on the screen.
- Stopping to fix every small error: Know the error rules first, then decide how much time to spend on corrections.
- Using an unfamiliar font: Use only the Hindi font you have practised on.
Also, sit straight and keep your wrists relaxed. A comfortable posture helps you type longer without getting tired.
What to Do If the Admit Card Is Not Downloading
- Check that you typed the registration number correctly, with no extra space.
- Try a different browser, such as Chrome or Firefox.
- The site may be slow because many people are using it. Try again after some time.
- If you lost your registration number, search your email for the UPSSSC registration message.
