Who Can Apply?
You should meet all of these:

- At least three of those years are in trade remedies, international trade or a related field.

Educational Qualification
The notice asks for a master’s degree in areas such as cost accounting (ICWA, CMA or CA) or a related subject. Since its wording groups these together, please read the eligibility section yourself if you have a professional qualification but no separate master’s.

Salary Details
Pay is high, as this is an expert post:
- With a PhD: Rs. 1,45,000 to Rs. 2,65,000 a month
- Without a PhD: Rs. 1,37,500 to Rs. 2,65,000 a month
Your place in the range depends on your experience. In special cases, CTIL can consider your last pay. The contract lasts for one year at first, and can be extended.
What Does This Consultant Work On?
Sometimes foreign goods are sold in India at unfairly low prices, and this hurts Indian companies. A company can then ask the government for protection. This is called a trade remedy. CTIL’s advisory cell helps such companies to prepare their case.
A cost accountant checks costs, prices and data, and helps to show the real damage. That is why this job needs both accounts knowledge and an understanding of trade rules.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
There are two stages:
- Application review: CTIL can shortlist in any manner it finds suitable.
- Second round: a written test and an interview.
The written test checks your knowledge of international trade law, investment law or international economic law. No marks or number of questions are given. It is unusual for a cost accountant to face law questions, so it would help to read about WTO rules, anti-dumping and safeguards. That tip is ours.
