Important Dates

Reach AIIMS Bathinda by 9:00 AM on 17 November 2026, if you are shortlisted. The advert does not print a last date for the form, so please do it soon.

Post-wise and Category-wise Vacancy

Both posts are unreserved (UR), with one seat each.

Which One Fits You?

Choose Assistant Research Officer if you have a master’s in Microbiology, Virology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Veterinary Science, Public Health or Life Sciences, along with some research or lab experience. You will analyse data, build dashboards and help prepare reports, so SPSS, R or Excel skills will really help.

Choose Lab Technician if you have studied science in Class 12 and have a B.Sc MLT, a 2-year diploma or a 1-year DMLT. You also need experience: one year in a government-recognised place, or two years of field or lab work. You will process samples, run staining and culture work, keep records and handle biomedical waste safely. You may also join field visits.

How Experience Is Counted

The notice says that experience generally counts only after you get the required qualification. So work you did before finishing your degree may not count. Check your letters carefully.

Selection Process

After the forms close, a committee checks each application. Having the minimum qualification does not guarantee a call. They pick candidates based on how closely your background matches the work, along with your desirable skills.

So a form with specific details will work better than a general one. Mention the tests you have run and the software you have used. That is our tip, not an official rule.

Exam Pattern or Merit Points

Only an interview is mentioned. There is no written test, and no scoring system is published.

How to Apply

  1. Fill in the ARO form or the Lab Technician form.
  2. Check carefully before submitting, as changes may not be allowed afterwards.
  3. Wait for shortlisting.
  4. Carry your papers on 17 November: Class 10 certificate, degree papers, experience letters, CV and two photos, along with any publications.

Before You Say Yes

This is a project job. It may not continue after March 2027 unless the project is renewed, and it will not turn into a regular AIIMS job. You must also arrange your own stay in Bathinda, as no accommodation is given. Interview travel is at your own cost.
