If you are claiming a reserved seat, your certificate must be a latest one issued in Jharkhand. A certificate from another state may not help you here, so check this first.

Can You Apply?

You need an MBBS the NMC recognises, along with current registration with the NMC or a state council. A PG degree is welcome but is not required. The notice does not mention an age limit or a fee. It only asks for your Matriculation certificate as age proof.

Selection and Exam Pattern

It is simple: a personal interview, and your marks in it decide everything. No written exam or merit pattern is mentioned. A few things to prepare:

  • Carry your printed form, all originals and one set of self-attested copies.
  • Without them, you will not be allowed to sit the interview.
  • Travel costs are on you, as no TA or DA is paid.

Read This Before You Say Yes

A fresher can easily miss the fine print, so here is what it means in plain words:

  • This is a contract job. You cannot later claim to be made permanent.
  • Your first three months are a test. Your work will be reviewed, and this period can be extended.
  • You do not choose your posting. It can be any block or health institution in the district.
  • It could end early. If the state sends its own doctors to the district, the post can be closed.
  • One month’s notice works both ways. You can also leave if something better comes along.

For many new doctors, a year of real ward and OPD work is still valuable. That is our view, so decide based on your own plans.

How to Apply, Step by Step

  1. Get the form from chatra.nic.in or the DMFT office.
  2. Fill it in, and self-attest your documents.
  3. Put them in an envelope marked “Application for the Post of Medical Officer under DMFT, Chatra”.
  4. Hand it in, or send it by Registered or Speed Post, to the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson, 2nd Floor, DMFT, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chatra, Jharkhand – 825401.

Pack your Class 10 certificate, MBBS papers, council registration, Aadhaar and a signed photo. If you have PG, experience, caste or income papers, add those too.
