Category Seats
SC 4
OBC 2
UR 1
EWS 1

Four of these are backlog seats, which are reserved seats that stayed empty earlier: three for SC and one for OBC.

Who Can Apply?

You should have one of these qualifications:

  1. B.Sc in Cardiovascular Technology or Echocardiography.
  2. B.Sc in Nursing.
  3. A postgraduate diploma in Cardiovascular Technology.
  4. A post-basic diploma in Cardiothoracic Nursing.
  5. A government-approved ECG course completed after graduation.

Please check this rule. If you have over one year of training or job experience after your qualification, you are not eligible. So this is ideal for recent pass-outs.

Educational Qualification

Keep your final certificates and marks ready. You have to show originals along with copies on the day of the interview.

Age Limit and Application Fee

You should be 35 or younger on 1 November 2026. No application fee is mentioned.

Salary Details

You get Rs. 12,300 a month as a stipend. It is a training payment rather than a full salary. Kerala’s capital can be costly for those moving from outside, so plan your stay and meals. The notice does not mention a hostel, so please ask about this at the interview. This advice is ours.

What Is a Cardiovascular Technologist?

This person helps doctors test and care for heart patients. Common tests include ECG, which records the heart’s electrical activity, and echocardiography, an ultrasound scan of the heart. Training at a specialised heart centre can build useful skills for future jobs in hospitals.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

There will be an interview. If too many candidates come, a written test may be held first. The notice does not share a syllabus, so try revising:

  • How to read a basic ECG
  • Heart anatomy and blood circulation
  • Common heart diseases and their symptoms
  • Basic patient care

This list is our suggestion, and it is not from the institute.

How to Apply

There is no form to submit before the walk-in. On the day, carry:

  • Original certificates, and photocopies
  • Proof of age
  • Your category certificate, if you have one

SC candidates need a caste certificate. OBC candidates need a Non-Creamy Layer certificate, and EWS candidates need an income and assets certificate. All should come from a Revenue Officer of Tahsildar rank or above.

Finding the Venue

The interview is not at the main institute address. Go to the Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies, on the Medical College Campus in Thiruvananthapuram. Please check the route the day before.

Questions You Might Have Before Going

What if my result is new, and I have no experience? This is fine, since the programme is meant for recent graduates and experience is not asked for.

What if I did a short hospital job? Add up your time. Up to one year after your qualification should not make you ineligible, but more than that will. Bring your letters in case you are asked.

How should I dress and prepare? Formal clothes and a neat file of documents always help. Arrange your certificates in the same order as the notice: age, qualification and caste.

These answers are general suggestions from us, and the institute’s decision is final.
