Post-wise Vacancy and Category-wise Vacancy

One post in total, with no category listed.

Is This for You?

Tick these off:

  • You live in The Nilgiris district. This is a must.
  • You are not above 40.
  • You hold a UG degree in Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife, Public Policy or something close.
  • You can type in both Tamil and English, at a basic level.
  • You know MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as the Tamil notice mentions.

A fresher can apply too, since a year of experience is only an advantage and not a must. If you volunteered with an environmental group or did a college project, mention it. It might help you stand out, though that is just our suggestion.

What Will You Do All Day?

Think of this as a coordinator’s job. You help different departments work together on climate action, and you run training programmes. You also record climate projects that have worked well, keep government records, and arrange a district meeting every two months, with the minutes sent within 15 days.

So there is plenty of writing, planning and paperwork. If you were hoping for only outdoor field work, this may not be that kind of job.

Selection Process

You will face three stages: the eligibility check, then a typing test, then a written test and interview.

Exam Pattern or Merit Points

Nothing has been shared on marks or syllabus. To be ready, brush up your typing, read about Tamil Nadu’s climate initiatives, and learn the basics of the Nilgiris’ ecology. These ideas are ours, not from the notice.

How to Apply

It is simple. Update your CV, and then do one of these:

  1. Email it to cmgfp.nlg@gmail.com, or
  2. Post it to District Climate Change Mission, District Forest Office, Nilgiris Division, Ooty – 643001.

No form or fee is mentioned.

Two Things to Know

Leave is limited. You get one day of leave a month, and only with prior permission.

Notice period. You have to give a month’s notice before leaving.
