Are you a graduate who enjoys sports? Calicut University is looking for women security guards on daily wages, at Rs. 840 a day. The first round is a fitness test on 20 November.
If you played a sport in college or served in NCC, this could suit you well. Let us look at what you need. Other jobs are on our Latest Jobs page.

Important Dates
| Round | When |
|---|---|
| Physical Test | Friday, 20 November, 7:30 AM, University Stadium |
| Interview | Saturday, 21 November, 9:30 AM, Administration Block |
Clear the first round, and you move to the second. Otherwise your attempt ends there.
Vacancy and Category-wise Details
The university does not mention the number of openings, or any category-wise split.
Can You Clear the Fitness Test?
You must meet the standard in any five of these eight events:
- Run 100 metres in 17 seconds
- Run 200 metres in 36 seconds
- High jump of 1.06 metres
- Long jump of 3.05 metres
- Throw a 4 kg shot 4.88 metres
- Throw a throwball 14 metres
- Shuttle race of 4 x 25 metres in 26 seconds
- Skip rope 80 times in a minute
Which five are you likely to manage? Find a ground this week, and try them with a stopwatch. Pick your strongest five, and also practise a sixth as a backup. That is our tip, and it is worth doing early, as jumps and throws need some practice.
Other Physical Checks
- Height: 157 cm, or 150 cm for SC and ST candidates.
- Eyesight: full 6/6 without glasses, so please get it tested if you are not sure.
- Body: conditions such as flat foot, knock-knee, bow legs, varicose veins or protruding teeth can disqualify you.
Getting a check-up first could save you a wasted trip.
Selection Process and Merit Points
After the fitness test comes an interview. The release does not give any written exam or marks formula. An NCC or SPC certificate, or a sports achievement at district level or above, is a plus. So do bring those papers.
Basic Eligibility
You must be a graduate from a recognised university. Your age should not exceed 40 on 1 January 2026, with relaxation under the rules for SC, ST and OBC.
How to Apply
You do not apply beforehand. Just come on the day, with:
- Certificates that prove your name, age, community and qualifications.
- A medical certificate signed by a registered doctor, using the format on page 3 of the release.
Print that format, and see a doctor a few days before. A doctor may need to examine you, so please do not leave it until the morning of the test.
What About the Pay?
You get Rs. 840 for each day, up to Rs. 22,680 in a month. Because it is daily wage work, it may not come with the benefits of a permanent job. Ask at the interview if you want more details.
