Important Dates

Only one date matters right now: 5 November. Anything received after that will not count. The university will share interview details through email only, so please check yours regularly, including your spam folder.

Vacancy and Category-wise Details

There are two posts, without a category split. If two candidates are equal in qualifications and experience, OBC, SC and ST candidates are preferred.

Can You Apply?

You need a master’s in Geology or Applied Geology, with at least 60 percent or an equal grade. You should also have a valid GATE, NET or other national test.

Do you not have GATE or NET? Do not rule yourself out yet. If no such candidate applies, someone with only the PG may be considered, with the fellowship as per MoEFCC rules.

Selection and Exam Pattern

There is no written exam. A screening committee can narrow down the list, so mention everything: field trips, dissertation topics, and any experience with sediment or climate records. The interview is hybrid, so you may be able to attend online. These CV tips are ours.

A waiting list may also be used if someone chosen does not join. So do not lose hope if you miss the first round.

How to Apply

Send your CV and academic documents to narenhnbgu@gmail.com. The letterhead shows a slightly different email, narendes@gmail.com, so call +91 8630262950 if you want to be sure.

Include the project name in your email subject, so that it is easy to find. That is just a good habit, not a rule from the university.

What Is It Like?

The project is about reading climate history from natural records in the mountains. So field work in high places is quite possible, although the advert does not spell this out. If you enjoy being outdoors, that could be a bonus.
