Important Dates

Everything happens on one day: 10 November. Do not plan on arriving after 10:30 AM, because the form must be handed in during the given hour. For age, your date to check is 1 July 2026.

Post-wise Vacancy and Pay

If you have a master’s: Junior Project Fellow, 4 openings, Rs. 24,000 plus HRA as admissible.

If you have a bachelor’s: Project Assistant, 4 openings, Rs. 22,000 fixed.

Category-wise Vacancy and Age

The notice does not reserve posts by category, at least not in this table. But the age limits do change:

Group JPF Age Limit PA Age Limit
General 28 25
OBC 31 28
SC, ST, Women 33 30

We worked these out from the notice’s relaxation rule of 3 and 5 years.

Do You Qualify?

The word that matters here is first class. You need it for both posts.

  • JPF: M.Sc in Forestry, Botany, Ecology, Life Science, Geography or Agriculture. If you can identify forest plants, that is a plus.
  • PA: Bachelor’s in Forestry, Botany, Zoology, Geography or Agriculture.

What Will the Work Be?

The project is about counting standing vegetation, and working out its economic value, in a highway project area at Silchar. This information is used for compensation when land is acquired. So it is likely to involve field work, though the notice does not describe daily tasks.

Selection Process

A walk-in interview, with your certificates checked on the spot. Already working in a government body? Then get a No Objection Certificate first, because you must show it.

Exam Pattern or Merit Points

No test or scoring pattern is shared. To prepare, we suggest revising local plant names, and being ready to discuss your project or field experience. These tips are ours.

How to Apply

  1. Print the form from the notice PDF.
  2. Fill it in, and paste a self-attested photo.
  3. Attach attested copies of your certificates, and carry the originals.
  4. Reach Jorhat in time, and hand it in.

You will pay your own travel costs. Since the post ends with the project, please do not count on a long-term job.
